Due to the arrival of the spring, the good weather, light, flowers and the Fiesta de la Cruz arrive. After Easter, every 3rd May, music and fun invade the streets of the town. Local and visitors enjoy this fiesta; the different colours of flamenco dresses mix with the typical polka dots, carnations, horse dances and floats around the main streets of Motril.
The squares of the town become a meeting point for the first three days of May. The rebujito (local alcoholic drink) and traditional dishes: “migas” (dish made with flour) or “espichas”; the most typical Andalusian traditions are shown during this three-day celebration.
