Motril is a botanical region thanks to the subtropical microclimate. The Pueblos de America Park, located in the town centre, has a wide range of native species as well as the tropical climate species from different parts of the world. There, you will also find the Patron Saint Virgen de la Cabeza Sanctuary and the patrimonial remains of the Sugar Factory called La Alcoholera.
The Park of Los Pueblos de América is a must for all visitors. You will have the opportunity to contemplate species from different places of the American continent, such as Roystonea regia (Cuban royal palm), Erythrina crista-galli (Coral tree), Phytolacca dioica (Ombu tree), Chorisia speciosa (Palo Borracho), Jacaranda mimosifolia, Liriodendron tulipifera (tulip tree), Taxodium ascendens (pond cypress), as well as a great variety of bushes, which are well-known due to their colourful flowering periods during the year. There is also a Cactus and Succulents garden, a central lake and a stream flowing through this delightful park.
